Who we are
Our Terms and Conditions were last updated on 20.09.2026.
These terms apply to all purchases from www.lh-english.com, operated by Polina Holovkina, trading as Lighthouse English, email hello@lh-english.com. By placing an order you confirm that you have read and accept these terms.
The products
We sell downloadable digital guides in PDF format for Cambridge English exam preparation. Each guide focuses on exam technique and assumes the buyer already has the relevant level of English. Product descriptions and sample pages are shown on the sales page before purchase. Lighthouse English is independent and not affiliated with Cambridge University Press & Assessment.
Who can buy
You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to place an order. You agree that the information you give at checkout is accurate.
How to place an order
1. Click the buy button on the sales page.
2. Fill in your details on the order form. You can review and correct them at any time before paying.
3. Tick the required box to accept these terms and to agree to immediate access to the digital content.
4. Complete payment through Stripe or PayPal.
5. The contract is concluded when your payment is confirmed. You will receive a confirmation email with a copy of your order details.
Contracts are concluded in English. We keep a record of your order, and you can request a copy by emailing us.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in euros and include VAT where applicable. The price you pay is the one shown at checkout when you place the order. Payment is taken in full at the time of purchase. There are no subscriptions or recurring charges.
Delivery
Your guide is delivered digitally. You receive a download link immediately after payment, on the thank-you page and/or by email. It is your responsibility to download and save the file. If you do not receive your link, contact us and we will resend it.
Licence and permitted use
When you buy a guide, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for your own exam preparation. You may download it, save it on your own devices and print it for your personal use. You may not:
share, forward, resell, lend or give away the guide or any part of it
upload it to any website, shared drive, social media, file-sharing service or AI tool
copy, adapt or reproduce its content in other materials
use it for teaching groups or classes, or distribute it to students, without a separate written licence from us
All intellectual property in the guides remains with Polina Holovkina. If you break these rules, your licence ends immediately and we may take legal action.
Right of withdrawal
Because the guides are digital content supplied immediately, you lose your right of withdrawal once the download is made available to you, provided you have given your express consent and acknowledgement at checkout. This is in accordance with Article 103(m) of the Spanish Consumer Protection Act (TRLGDCU) and Article 16(m) of EU Directive 2011/83/EU. See our Refund Policy for details.
Faulty files
If your file is damaged, incomplete or does not match its description, tell us within a reasonable time at hello@lh-english.com. We will first replace or fix the file. If we cannot do so within a reasonable time, you may be entitled to a price reduction or refund as provided by law.
No guarantee of exam results
The guides provide exam strategy and practice material. Your exam result depends on your own level of English, preparation and performance on the day. We do not guarantee any particular score, grade or pass.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to a purchase is limited to the price you paid for that product. We are not liable for indirect losses, such as exam fees, lost opportunities or loss of data. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or gross negligence, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms at any time. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published at the time you placed your order.
Complaints
If you have a problem, email hello@lh-english.com and we will reply within 14 days. Official complaint forms (hojas de reclamaciones) are available on request.
Law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence, and you may bring a claim in the courts of your place of residence.
